Ok thank you first, maybe betacentauri will be his current version for the Solo 4K so provides support for flashing from my external NAS.

Yes, 2.3.3 doesn't support solo4k.
And I still don't understand why it works in the older version. I thought it never worked with files on a share, because I need to kill samba and NFS processes.
This won't change in near future. Maybe I try to change it when I have some time again.

Regarding stopping it is strange. Maybe I increase wait time a little bit. But a "init 1" should stop e2.

I'll commit the changes in the next days.

Mario has now also reported that the version 3.5.8 with him despite active NAS releases super works!

Its backups remain on HDD and are not on the mounts of the NAS.

I also think it is not necessary to create the images on the NAS, HDD and USB are enough!

Therefore, again thank you to Betacentauri, please at the occasion the small bin file post.

Changes are in git (but won't be included in OpenPli yet).

Here is the small binary.

Hi,

VU Solo 4k, it seem deep-standby is not working reliable....I want to wake it up at night and move to deep-standby.....seems 80 percent of the time is fine....but some days the Solo 4k is full on and running in the morning.....in this case, backup was done, but not moved to deep-stby.....is there anything I could log?

Thx and best rgds,

Let me know whether to open a new one or not....
Not sure, I was thinking it is a AutomaticFullBackup discussion here and would be the correct place..

I think Snoopy_007 means that the STB is not returning to deep sleep after the STB was woken up to make a backup, so AFB related

Exactly, thanks for clarification....could be my post was slightly out of nothing and out of context....not my native language..
Anyway, I tested today many times and wake-up from deep-stby works 100percent reliable....
But moving back to deep-stby is not same, sometimes it works, sometimes not
It seems this issue is the case in following situation: box wakes up from deep, but no backup will be done and no execution of deep-stby
Would be interesting whether there is a log or option to figure it out

I will do some more testing, but for sure I found now the plugin which wakes my box up over night and does not move to deep again....all that said, I have isolated now to AFB that my box is awake and full on in the mornings/full day

Automatic Full Backup setup:

"Behaviour in deep standby" --> "wake up and shutdown after backup"

How it should work:

1)box auto boot

2)wait 60 sec.

3)goto standby mode

4)pause 15 min.(at the time a backup is executed)

5) When standby mode and not recording running or not recording  in the next 3 min. -- > goto deep standby mode

I checked on my solo 4k all ok.

At first, tanks for checking! Really appreciated
Hmmm, so u r writing, go to stby mode...

For me its like this:

1)wakes up from deep
2)it wakes up 1min rough earlier or is up earlier, could be this is your 60sec
3)I am pretty sure box does not change mode to stdby, TV and sound still running, no commands possible in the meanwhile during backup is running and performed, spinner running and USB with LED shows action. Check after this would show up that backup was performed.....just FYI, backup time 10min
4&5)no further action, box is ready for commands and running....this time I waited upto 5min....fyi, no recordings within next hours

All that said, seems step 3) is not performed on my side?
Could u clarify please if possible..
So u r saying, box moves to stby (no picture/no sound), backup is performed and after 3mins back to deep?

Thx and best rgds,
Juergen

Thanks Dimitrij,
makes sense. Appreciate your description, helping a lot to understand. I work now with a workaround and let direct after backup epgrefresh run and some others which will make sure box is in deep.

If someone has idea where in the code/file a change could be tried to force stdby of sthg else...feel free and appreciated

Dear Sir,

What a version which work for Dreambox DM900 UHD.?

We don't make software for Dreamboxes anymore, since DMM dropped support for the open source community.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

dBackup works nicely for backup and flashing a dm900, even with an OpenPLi image, you just have to add armhf to the arch.conf file so that the ipk installs.

And ... dropped support for OpenSource ... is an interresting opinion.

But as it is popular at the moment to build walls and demand others to pay for it ... we better don't discuss this issue.
